Day 1 - 478th bike registered (includes participants who only ride sections of the run)
- Assigned to platoon 3
- Issued 1 FNG button
- Great ceremony in Wentzville, Missouri
- Amazing national anthem at Jefferson Barracks
- Re-routed via IL-15/Green Mount Road due to I-64 closure
- Warm reception in Corydon, Indiana
- 10 Australian Vietnam Veterans on the run
- Too many Legion Riders to count
- Today's totals: 351 miles, 3 states (Missouri, Illinois, Indiana)

 
Day 2 - Visited second VA Medical Center of the trip (Louisville, Kentucky)
- Visited Kentucky Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Frankfurt, interesting "sundial" design
- First free fuel stop (Mt Sterling, Kentucky)
- C-130 flyover and Huey escort into Hurricane, West Virginia
- Another warm reception in Hurricane
- 292.2 miles today / 643.2 total
- 2 states added today (Kentucky, West Virginia) / 5 total (Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia)

Day 3

- Selected for Missing Man Formation at the front of the pack: Rode from Hurricane to Charleston, West Virginia in honor of my Uncle
- Greeted by the Governor of West Virginia at the state capital, RFTW allowed to park in the square in front of the capital building
- The run broke away from the Interstate today and took some beautiful and twisty back roads into Rainelle, West Virginia
- Yet another warm welcome in Rainelle, provided autographs to students at the Rainelle Elementary School
- First rain of the trip, poured on the way to the hotel in Lewisburg, West Virginia. Fortunately I had put my full rain gear on in Rainelle.
- Managed to get a workout in today: ran 3.25 miles
- 162.1 miles today / 805.3 total
- No new states added today (Still in West Virginia) / 5 total (Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia)

Day 4

- Beautiful weather for the last leg
- Arrived in Washington D.C. safe and sound
- Met another Legion Rider from Post 365 ... the one in Corry, Pennsylvania
- Rode with Legion Riders from the Fairfax, Virginia Post 177 to the candlelight vigil at the Wall
- Total miles this evening
- 316.4 miles today / 1121.7 total
- 1 new state added today (Virginia) and the District/ 6 total states (Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia)

Day 5

- Selected to enter ANC with the RFTW group (limited to 400 bikes, FNGs had priority)
- Attended changing of the guard and wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
- Parade run from ANC to the National Mall
- RFTW group photo on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial
- Attended RFTW "Mission Accomplished" plaque presentation at the apex of The Wall
- FNG button turned upside down by a fellow RFTW rider
- 43.5 miles today / 1171.2 total
- No new states added today/6 total states (Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia)

Day 6

- Rode from Post 177 in Fairfax, Virginia to the south lot of the Pentagon to stage for RT with other American Legion Riders
- Visited the Pentagon Memorial in honor of those lost on September 11, 2001
- Visited the Air Force Memorial, randomly met someone from Freeport, New York (Really close to where I graduated from high school)
- Left Pentagon parking lot at 1500 for RT, completed parade at 1530
- Immediately commenced RBH riding to Somerset, Pennsylvania; Was in 4 states (Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania) in the span of 70 minutes
- 208 miles today / 1379.2 total
- 2 new states added today (Maryland, Pennsylvania), 8 total states (Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania)

Day 7

- Visited the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, PA
- Left the Memorial and continued RBH to Beavercreek, OH to spend the night with a friend stationed at Wright-Patterson AFB
- Almost ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere (WV), ended up getting 172.7 miles on a single tank
- 419.5 miles today (most daily mileage of the trip) / 1798.7 total
- 1 new state added today (OH), 9 total states (MO, IL, IN, KY, WV, VA, MD, PA, OH)

 
Day 8

Addition to yesterday's SITREP:
- Lost fender cover bolt that was also securing a tailbag strap (also in the middle of nowhere WV), re-routed to nearest Home Depot and acquired temporary replacement hardware

Today's SITREP:
- Completed RBH, made it back safe and sound
- 428 miles today (surpassed yesterday's record for daily mileage) / 2226.7 total
- Fuel totals: 42.5 gallons, $162.93, averaged 52 MPG
- No new states added today, 9 total states (MO, IL, IN, KY, WV, VA, MD, PA, OH) and Washington D.C.
